Band Name: Terry Lynn
Music Genre Acoustic
The Band : acoustic guitar and vocals - Terry Lynn
Background: From, blues, to folk, to pop, to rock, Terry's never one to be boxed in artistically.
Influenced by singer-songwriters and performers the likes of John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, David Wilcox, Linda Ronstadt, and Joan Baez, inspired as much by theater, and visual arts as she is by music and poetry her artistic voice is continually evolving.

A pure singer-songwriter Terry's approach to songwriting is organic.

"I try not to make the song tell me what it's about, I try not to squeeze the details out of it, I just sort of let the images tell me a story that I need to know. I think songs are spirit speaking, so i try my best to be quiet and listen.

I approach a song much like an impressionist would a canvas, I try not to be too interested in the details. I'm looking for a memory or what I think I might see in some other persons life. I'm making a distant sketch of it in words. Memories have a kind of blurry quality. Songs for me are like dreams, their full of symbols that I may not understand right away, but that makes the images no less important. I think when we experience things from that place, that dream state. I think when we look without analyzing too quickly, without judgement, we learn something new about ourselves, there's room to breathe, and space where the new and old us, can kind of exist simultaneously. I find if I give myself that space I learn something about myself from the song. In the end they mean more to me than anything I could have crafted, because they've helped me see things in a new way. I really believe songs are gifts. They are little life lessons, crammed into a few minutes. It's amazing really. Thats why I write, to learn a little bit more about who I am and what really believe. I love sharing my songs. Music gives me a safe place to share my deepest feelings with you. It allows us to connect on a level that goes beyond our shared experience, there's something intimate and spiritual about music, its us unlike any other form of communication, "

From the sultry sounds of Desire a folk ballad that explores a young girls need for passion, and her realization that blindly chasing dreams may lead down roads with no end, to the peppy pop of Daydreams a song about optimism being a choice, to the alternative rock sounds of Blind Fate a response to negativity and the constant struggle to not sec-um to cynicism and anger post 9/11, her versatility as a performer compels you to stick around for just one more song.
From introspective and poetic, to downright comic, she'll seamlessly segues from "Silent Treatment" a witty response to being ignored mid-argument, to "Everything I Feel" a girls justification for dating a guy her girlfriends call a "hair band poser" to 'Cry" a pop rock tune about the therapeutic benefits of venting and a womans perogative to develop her skills as a 'professional emotional" her quirky perspective is both honest and captivating. There seems to be a little bit of something for everyone from this songwriter.
